CORRECT: Govt plans to make Russian carmakers to sell ‘green’ cars

(Corrects paragraphs 1, 2 to say that government wants car producers to sell cars running on natural gas, not LNG)

MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) – Russia plans to oblige car producers to have a share of so-called green cars, or cars running on electric power, hydrogen, or natural gas, in their sales starting from 2030, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said on Thursday during a conference.

“To carry out a gradual, step-by-step phase out of cars running on fossil fuels, we plan to set demands for the car producers to have a share of ‘green’ transport in the sales starting from 2030. I mean hydrogen cars, electric cars, and cars running on natural gas,” he said.
